    ... bus for us short people) and we hiked up the hill. Wouldn't you know it, it is National Monuments Day and we didn't have to pay 12 Euros to visit...we have been very lucky on this trip (well except for Aegean Air...maybe you all should buy their stock??? Their business model might keep all of Greece a float!)

    ... But oh well, we had the time of our lives on Santorini, Aegean Air can't take that away!
    Got to Athens fine and our driver gave us a brief tour of the area. So much history!!!Hotel is the Electra Palace, chose it for the view of the Acropolis...very nice. Got there and the check in clerk said he had a surprise...his buddy next to him leaned over and said "We lost your reservation" with a wink! Our surprise??? They moved us to ...

    ... Royale service, and I couldn’t resist Champagne with black currant liqueur. I’ve never had one before. My choices were Lobster and Scallop Sausage with Root Vegetables and Citrus Sauce as an appetizer, Venison Saddle with Vegetables and Foie Gras Bread Pudding as a main, and Panna Cotta with Grapefruit Sections in Pink Grapefruit Soup for dessert.

    It was kind of fru-fru food but very tasty. And even at the reasonable sounding rate of $25 for lunch, ...

  • The way the bus passes work are in New Zealand I am allowed 60 hour of travel on their buses and in Australia I can get on and off as many buses I want as long as it is heading north and on the east coast.
    I have never used a bus pass like these so I will keep you posted how they work out.

    ... like Poughkeepsie, Newburgh, and Kingston farther south, which at least in era of 1970s and 1980s when I was there with family were not very nice places. Hudson could not be more different, though, virtually the yuppie center of the Hudson Valley. Hudson’s main drag, Columbia Street, is lined with nice stores and restaurants serving rather upscale grub.
