... and jumped in the hot tub. It was wonderful. After a few hot toddys, Mary and I decided it would be a good idea to jump out of the tub and make snow angels in our bathing suits. Yes, there is a video.
So in the end the weekend turned out to be a whole lot of doing nothing and it was perfect in every way. We're hoping for another trip up there over the weekend between Christmas and New Year.

... Over the past couple of weeks (and dozens of hours) of online poking around we have considered flights from the Philippines to Nepal, Turkey, Italy, Malaysia, Ireland, and most recently Hawaii. But in the end we booked a simple round trip to and from the Philippines, leaving January 21, 2014 and returning in April! Maybe while we are there we will do a side trip, but for now we are keeping it simple.
Along with lots of very comfy and domestic ...
... a moving van so she can head to Florida. We have been enjoying the local farmer's market, the amazing fall apples (so many flavors!) and the peace and quiet.
We also are spending some time digging through the treasures stashed away
over the past half century by Kevin's Grandpa. He was a collector of
useful things and there is a whole workshop and barn full of nifty
artifacts to be rediscovered.
