Ron is a member of CHANY and the entire Ryan crew was there. The conference was great and I had a great time. While ron was attending the workshops I went sightseeing by myself.I walked over 15 miles, had lunch and tasted the water in the springs.

... and flat from here. At this stage we were all close together and going well. At about mile 12 it's a long downhill to the half way mark in the township of Adirondack. So the big hills are done, but it's only halfway! Yalzy is flying and feeling great, as we pass the halfway timers. Joe was a little knackered from pushing hard downhill (rookie error? ... heron flew off and the geese waddled away as we continued back to the take-out. Up the rocky bank, I stumbled and worried about getting the boats up, but Otto dragged them most of the way up the bank. We had the extra effort of driving to collect Otto's car as we had transferring my kayak & stuff into his vehicle on the way in. This time I had my keys - or rather Otto was safeguarding them.

Toured some back roads from Niagara Falls to Speculator in the Adirondack mountains, saw some deer, 2 adults and three fawns. Lots of lakes, cottage country. Bought a larger bag for the rear carrier.....I know.. . . Rode till dark, stayed in a small town motel......very interesting. Went next door and had good ice cream. Stayed at Cedarhurst ...
