    Syracuse to Niagara Falls

... great. We also did a behind the falls tour which took us underneath the fall of the water - amazing! About 9pm Andy suggested we go for a drive around to discover the area more. Every man his kids and the dog were out!!! It was like Vegas for families. At 10pm there was a huge fireworks display - now we know why the kids were up late. Great ...

After a few hours we headed to a local grocery store to stock up on some supplies I am group B which is made up of myself, Betina and Jo. Our mission was to budget a meal of $50 to cook for 12 people, we racked up a bill of $70 oops! We popped over to the USA for the afternoon. A surprisingly painless experience really - 50cents, show passports, give fingerprints, $6 for visa waiver, and you're in. The US side of the Falls is a State Park so is much more natural that the Canadian side, which was a nice change. We wandered around the, I tripped over air, and we headed down towards Prospect Point. Mildly accosted by an American chap whose nan hadn't crossed the Atlantic in the Titanic.

... 12 total for the trip for the three of us). Must say the locals on the bus were friendly and entertaining, mainly black Americans. One guy, who was most helpful when I asked which stop we'd be best to get off at to cross the rainbow bridge, took a particular liking to Rose. He affectionately called her a "cutie pie" .... Imagine this will that strong American accent as he said it. Buffalo certainly has mostly what looks like quite poor housing and lots of struggling ...

An early start today, no chance of a sleep in as we were picked up at 5.10am from our lobby to catch a 8.20 flight from JFK to Buffalo.

The weather was absolutely stunning all day. We were so blessed and our guide kept on commenting about the beautiful weather.

No mucking about we were straight to the main event - the falls, which were 35 min drive from the airport. We passed the Niagara River and heard how it split into two to create the American Falls and ...
