There are various homes and communities on the island that offer beachfront, bay front, or lagoon front condos and what we loved was that all the homes are different. No cookie cutter development here. From anywhere on the island, you are never more than a short walk to the beach or the intra-coastal waterway.

If you are looking for night life and crowed beaches, this is not the place.

Wow..so many of these towns can be described as "quaint."

Historic Punta Gorda may be the epitome of quaint...it is small town Florida along the water with a charming downtown, antique street lamps, swaying palms, brick lined streets, restored period homes.
