    We decide to walk off our popovers with a hike at “Ship Harbor”. This is another easy hike through the island forest out to a more rugged, large bay. In addition to freshly filled tidal pools teaming with snails and the occasional starfish and crab, we note that the tourists have constructed lots of Cairns.

    ... so much fun for the kids, they probably forget they are learning a huge amount.

    Once we got to the dive spot, only about 15 minutes from Bar Harbor, Ed dived down to around 45 feet giving a commentary all the time through a 2 way transponder radio set. After a short while, he surfaced with a bag of sea creatures and took the huge underwater camera down along with his diving buddy, mini Ed, a little lego diver! This is Mini Ed no 154, ...

    ... views were good, the mist had some in more and it was all a bit hazy, so back home via the supermarket for dinner.

    Tomorrow, we had hoped to go fishing, but were advised that most of the fish have left the bay and would need to go quite far out to catch anything, so we opted for a fun trip recommended by the Evans family.     ... Specialised and Trek so once we parked up we went and had a look. For a dollar more, the bikes seemed much better so we quickly got fitted up and off we went.  We had planned to take a bike shuttle to the carriage roads until the guy in th shop laughed and told us we could access them about a mile away.  He marked out. a loop for us that he said was a nice ride but was about 20 miles.  Thinking it would be ...

    ... talk was on marshes, bogs and the wildlife that live there, that may have been the most informative, but we came when it was half over. One nite instead of the ranger’s talk we had a concert by the bar harbor string orchestra (with a special oboeist) playing Mozart, Cionek and Tchaikovsky. It was a wonderful concert that was free (donations).
