      ... on an island of 87.5 sq km it means there is approx 6,035 people per kilometre and there are 42,000 Taxi's but only 18 petrol stations!! Even with all the people it has a vibrancy that you cannot compare, it's a beautiful city and very green, once you are away from the bright lights of Times Square! So our first adventure was to Central Park and it was dangerous! First a short break on the grass ended up ...

      ... ago. coming to the land of freedom for them, seeing the statue for the first time. She must have brought a tear to many eyes.

      It's actually quite small now that the surrounding buildings are so tall.

      There isn't anything to do on Staten Island, so we finished off our wrap, while awaiting the return ferry.
      The ride was uneventful, passing a few sailing boats and a few large cruiser style boats ...

      ... instead enjoyed taking many photos, loving this random shop! On leaving we saw 'The Art of the Brick', a Lego exhibition advertised and decided to enter in. It was better than anyone imagined displaying such variety. There were famous paintings reinvented out of Lego including: Claude Monet, Whistler and The Mona Lisa.       ... our luggage and made our way to Penn Station to get the New Jersey Transit, Getting our luggage to the station was interesting but not at all bad in the end, even though I did have two cases. We made it onto the train that was in the station and connected to the bus with no problems.

      We have arrived safely but tired from our flights. Our flight from Dubai to New York even though the same as melb Dubai seemed so much longer. Flight was great, food nice and the crew were very nice. We have checked in to a hotel in Queens at the beginning of the mid town tunnel. So as the crow flies we are about 2 km from Times Square.
