... sun wasn't too hot (bear in mind it was 40 degrees in the cooler hours!) Gosh does she pull! For a smallish dog she is strong!! At one point I dropped the lead and she looked at me as if to say 'aha!' but after sternly saying her name, she sat down and waited for me to pick it back up. Phew!!

Cody needed a trip to the bank so we jumped in the Honda - it brought back so many memories from camp :D The smiles soon changed though as the engine went on ...

... for writing wonderful letters of recommendation. There is no way I could have done it without you.

I have now turned in all of the required paperwork, which is a lot I might add. Now all that is left is to wait for the day when I get on a plane and fly to Germany! I will be there from March 1st until the end of July.I probably won’t have a post for a while, because nothing will really be happening.

Our trip was a success and we accomplished all of our goals. Kaela got real exposure to Beijing and her Chinese heritage. Even if she never remembers that much from this trip, seeds have been planted and a real relationship with China has begun. I learned a lot about Chinese culture, history, and food. I have a much better appreciation for the best parts of China and am more ready to help Kaela learn about China. Hsing-ay also had a ...

Kite Flying: We plan to get a kite for our daughter. Many people fly kites all over China and it seems like a great diversion when we need to slow down, or when historic sites lose their allure. One wonderful memory from our China trip in 2000 was walking at Tiananmen Square at night and seeing thousands of Chinese socializing and hundreds flying kites in the night breeze.
