Our trip to the "winelands", Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, was our next stop in our South African adventure. From my perspective, Franschhoek came away the real winner for its culinary pedigree and charming landscape, but that's not to say Stellenbosch isn't distinct in its own right.

... it "awesome", "one of the best things I've tasted all day"... There is no hope! I thought they had a very nice Shiraz. Olives...delicious!

After a full day, and a great birthday, topped with a special birthday call from Josee (Mum) we headed back to the guest house. Tommorrow we are planning to take a Township Tour with the afternoon open....stayed tuned...

... a soccer ball around for a while, we all helped get dinner ready and soon had a delicious meal. We hung out around the camp fire for awhile and then headed to bed, knowing we would have an early morning of hiking.

When we got to the mountain the next morning, I looked up at it and thought “Oh that’s not bad. That can’t possibly take 6 hours.” It looked like something from the western part of the U.S.- kind of like Utah or perhaps Arizona. ...
