In a couple of hours we'll be leaving Holland to begin the first leg of our journey. Somehow leaving on September 11 feels appropriate because, as tragic as it was, this day above all others reminds me of the strength and courage of Americans, both now and in those early days of the founding of the original colonies.

There won't be much to comment on for the first couple of days. We'll be stopping in Columbus, ...

... down. We huddled under the marquee tent and I painted butterflies and a Spiderman mask as the rain finally died down enough for everyone to leave.

Thankfully, that was the last of the rain we saw the rest of the day and both shows were well-attended by lovely people who were all about showing their appreciation for the acts. ANOTHER EARLY START TOMORROW - we catch the ferry from Muskegon to Milwaukee tomorrow morning.
More tomorrow. ...

In between the Ranch Arena and Sherwood Court was the Electric Forest itself; a forest as large as all three venues put together that was littered with stands for drinks, small structures (ranging from shacks to multi-storied temples) to play in, statues, three more smaller stages for other artists, and thousands, literally thousands, of hammocks. There is not a place you could look in the forest where you ...

Michigan's Adventure (and other Adventures)

... day, I slept in until the soccer game started. U.S v Germany. We watched it at as a family, with most all of us squeezing onto the couch or pulling up chairs. The first half was boring and disappointing, and then the second half was not any better. We lost, but still advanced to the next round. USA, USA, USA! Once we all showered, the crew went downtown. After walking around, visiting all the toy stores, checking out restaurant menus, and generally ...
