We are here in Seattle. We arrived yesterday. We were sop posed to have a tour in Victoria, Cn but we got into port late and our tour was cancelled. So we just stayed on ship and spent the day eating and playing games with the crew staff. Seattle is one unique and beautiful city. ... a decision to rebuild the CBD 10-30 feet higher after it was destroyed by fire. The road was raised and eventually the sidewalk/footpath was covered over. These underground sections are still open in some places and offer access to what was the original street-level frontages and boardwalks. Embellished by stories of old Seattle it was fun. Interesting facts included:

Too tired to really get engaged reading or playing solitaire, but not tired enough to go into a deep sleep in a noisy plane cabin, we mostly just had to grit our teeth and know that soon we would be relaxing at home watching our kitties inspect our luggage and all the strange aromas we'd brought home with us.
Finally, after a trip to baggage claim and a short cab ride, we were home! Did we really just get ...

He also said that I should keep "journaling", which I interpret to mean the blogging I'd done during the trip. Unfortunately I haven't kept up with the blogging. If I had, I might have been more successful at maintaining the pilgrimage mindset. But I did stretch the interpretation to include writing screenplays, of which I have written three in the 18 ...
... In fact, quite a few people who came with us from Dulles were going on with us to Anchorage. Oddly, there were about 7 or 8 flights from Seattle to Anchorage later in the evening. Goofy.
As it happened, our plane was far from full, so we ended up with a row to ourselves. That's about the best of a bad situation (all travel by plane being a bad situation any more!). Boarded and left on time--next stop: Alaska.
