      ... and rode the chairlift to the top - a perfectly beautiful day, except for the hazy skies, which we found out later were NOT from N. US fires, but rather, from fires burning in Edmonton and Calgary areas. The highway head to the Columbia Ice Fields was closed every afternoon because the smoke was making visibility unsafe, so we had to cancel the next part of our explorations, to the new SkyWalk, out over the Ice Fields and Glaciers. :(

      ... at the top Gondola station....
      BUT... she had other plans...
      There is about 1 1/2Klm of steps up to the peak still to go once you arrive... I HAVE THE PACK...
      She was totally oblivious of my state by the time we got to the top... adipose enhanced, lack of fitness and altitude took it's toll...

      ... is between 37C and 40C. The pool can
      accommodate about 200 people although there were probably only about 60-70 people
      while we were there for the hour our so.

      After some of our recent hikes
      and yoga it was nice to have a soak for an hour or so. The cost is reasonable
      around $7.50 plus tax and there are facilities for lockers, towel hire and so
      on.

      ... Olympic athletes and a weekend escape for people who live in Calgary. Our aim was to enjoy and experience as many winter activities as we could. And that is what we did!

      Snow shoeing, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, ice fishing, ice climbing, dog sledding, and skating and of course: ice hockey. The kids were allowed to practice and play with the Canmore Eagles hockey club. It was great. The main reason to stay in one place for a bit longer was to ...
