... neat stones by the water.

We went for a drive around the Banff Springs golf course, searching out some wildlife. Johnny has played golf there a few times and once had to wait for a bear to leave the green before completing his hole! We saw some more elk and white tail deer, a few elk stags were sitting on the golf course and a short while later saw a group of a dozen cows and one stag sitting down. Melvyn, Cam and Matty got ...

... of endless amusement to Carla. Luckily The Hoodoo trail that we found ourselves on turned out to be pretty spectacular in it's own right. It didn't have the difficult climbs and winding paths that we were expecting.....but the sheer beauty of the mountains and rivers that we encountered more than made up for the miscalculation. ... cell phones much due to the $1 cost per minute, but we anticipated being able to stay in touch using the Web. Not so. We did have WiFi at our first stop, but the campground in Canmore where we spent 6 days had lousy service. We were only able to get online a couple of hours the very first day. The other 5 days: absolutely nothing. The campground has signs that they’ve been trying to get the city to upgrade its WiFi service, but at this point it’s virtually worthless.

... too. Once the lengthy search for a car park was completed, we headed down to the waterfront, and found a spot between the other tourists for photos. The lake was beautiful and was nestled below more mountains, some of which had the remainders of this winter's snow on them. The lake was a light cloudy blue color - I've never seen anything like it, and pictures certainly don't do it justice!

Lake Moraine was our next stop - again a ...

... from Banff to Lake Louise. It took us a good part of 3 hrs. as we stopped a lot and enjoyed some hiking, picture taking and just enjoying the spectacular views.

We decided to stop for lunch at the lodge where the Banff Gondola (ski-lift) ride up and down Sulphur Mountain is located. We never did eat lunch because we decided it would be so fun to ride the lift. And, ...
