We hired our car from Hertz in London (the new Audi in fact) and set off, aiming to get half way to Stirling in Scotland. We stopped off in Oxford ended up taking a two hour walking tour with a charismatic man who had lived in Oxford all his life and also studied music at the university (now 26). We heard stories of William Buckland, CS Lewis, Tolkein, quirky locals and Town vs Gown fights. We also learnt about the religious and imposing architecture and ...

She dragged us over to the press tent area and we thankfully ran into Sarah and Becky while we were waiting there.

... the atmosphere was supercharged with excited youngsters it just made me appreciate how lucky I am coming from a country where you can have a stunning beach to yourself and not have to share it a thousand others.

We left the beach much earier than expected and headed to the quaint New Forest village of Lyndhurst, gosh was it cute. Buildings with thatched roofs and narrow roads and parks with roaming wild horses. It was absolutely beautiful and when I felt the pull to dive into ...
