... was in order. Big day. Woke to a fine but cooler morning. Sightseeing on the agenda today. Our first stop was FDR's house at Hyde Park. We saw a short film & then took a tour of the house. Really interesting & now have to go home & read up on him. Sounds like an American Gough Whitlam & the whole Polio/never being seen in a wheelchair thing is so unbelievable. So we did get up at 4.45am & Ducko dropped us at the train for a 6.30am departure to Montreal. We googled the Melbourne Cup & heard the terrible news about Admire Rakti. Next train left at 9.30am for Albany. Really comfortable, ************e on it, spent the day writing my previous entry. Scenery once we crossed the border was very different & just spectacular. I think everyone on our tour was also rather dismayed when Eleanor's room was pointed out. Since Franklin's mother lived in the family home, Eleanor was not the woman in charge. ... we called it a night. Tired out but happy to be home. What a wonderful trip we had, as you can tell from our previous pages.
