... mile scenic route straddling the Appalachian Mountains, running from Virginia, south through to Cherokee, North Carolina. After joining the parkway we had a late lunch at Humpback Rocks (scenic look out), at the 6 mile mark. As it was getting dark we exited the parkway at the 45 mile mark (not before seeing afew deer!), and made our way here to Motel 6 in Lexington.

... Today was Kentucky, West Virginia and Virginia. I arrived in Lexington, Virginia around 6 PM and was rewarded with a beautiful sunset as I was setting up for the night.

... Indian Village (dating back 300 years) site just past the Natural Bridge. The Monacans are one of the surviving Indian tribes in Virginia, and still live in the area. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Natural Bridge along with all the other sights along the Cedar Creek nature trail. We reckon the Indian hut might be about all we will be able to live in, after a couple of years time when we run out of money ..
