We had an 85 mile ride today up Vesuvius, 3 miles of 8 to 17 % grade climbing. 7 of us did it and will sleep well tonight! I sagged in to the 30 mile mark and continued on the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway for 20 miles...glorious and wonderful...beautiful weather and our alter group of 10 did 50 miles of cycling today and feel great. Along the parkway we stopped to hike to a few summits and through national parks, saw the wild animals, investigated and learnt about the gem mines, visted an old water mill, learnt about the music of the ...

The main sights we saw in Lexington were the Washington and Lee University, the Virginia Military Institute, the Stonewall Jackson House and Lee Chapel.

Lexington is fiercely proud of it's confederate ...
