... border of Camp Lejeune has over nighters, full timers, permanent smaller mobile homes. It is clean and most sites have wood decks and surrounded with trees, with wi-fi, cable and we even got a free t-shirt.

This place brought back memories. The only other time I was in Jacksonville, NC was last year when Charlotte got the big snowstorm that had the airport shut down off and on for 4 days (mostly shut down). I got stuck in Jacksonville, NC from Tuesday morning at 8:30 till we left on Friday morning at 11:00. There are only 3 gates at this airport, very small. I was happy to see that we stayed in a nicer area and there were a lot stuff around the hotel. ...

Further along the southbound boats simply moved aside until the barge passed while others asked the tug captain what their move to avoid him should be. The captain's response was usually something along the line of "stay out from in front of me" and "just don't run into me," both of which seemed pretty obvious.

The cool thing about this hike was that we are right on the coast and starting to get into more southern tropical weather (although it doesn't feel like it right now) so we would walk between colorful leaves changing and evergreens and then into a tropical swamp filled with ferns and vines. ... Wrightsvile Beach) after dark after negotiating a rather tricky channel from the ICW. Anchoring in the dark with a relatively inexperienced crew didn't sound too enjoyable so I elected to pay for a slip here. There's a side story here I won't bore you with but the upshot is that I'll pick up a hearing aid in Wrightsville Beach that died earlier on this trip and was sent here for repair. ...
