... around when you clapped your hands. There were plenty other temples to see but on a hot day you reach saturation point sooner than you would think.
The next day we explored Siem Reap and the markets during the day and then Emma got a chance to try out some driving skills. We were about to embark on a sunset quad biking tour of the surrounding countryside. Seeing the previous group arguing about a minor bump that was going to hit ...
Ta Prohm is the last entry from my trip to Angkor/Siem Reap.
This area is a well recognized area due partly to its location having been used in the Lara Croft Tomb Raider movie and because of the tree interlaced ruins that have appeared on numerous magazines, more recently National Geographic.
The caretakers of this temple have purposely kept it looking like its in a state of apparent neglect; partly overgrown and gently declining. The trees that have grown ...

But those of us who were born in a country like Canada, or to a strong and loving family in a developed country, should be thankful for everything that we have because no matter what life throws at us, it can never be as bad as the life of some of the children (and adults) we have seen in VN and in Cambodia so far (and certainly no where nearly as bad as ...

Speaking of Tuk-tuk drivers, we cycle every day to the orphanage as it's only 12km one way (nice straight flat road - just psycho drivers) but if we take big stocks like 25kg bags of ...

... we visited had far too many steps for my liking in that sort of humidity - the sort that encourages the sweat glands in the more obscure parts of the body - such as your knees to let them selves be known. And then there was the elephant platform and several cool tunnel buildings with no roofs but impressive sculptures which also provided shelter from the slowly appearing sun.
We stopped for lunch a short time after, on our way to the next temple - Ta Phrom. It then dawned on us ...
... to receive a boarding pass. When finally allowed to check in, we were surprised by the inefficiencies of the airport. It took the gate agent nearly 10 minutes to stamp our tickets a few times. Additionally, only 1 out of 10 luggage conveyor belts worked and as luck would have it, we chose all of the wrong ones. Emigration was very stamp happy on both ends of our flight. It was quite a belabored process. The flight to Cambodia took about 2 hours.

Had a lie in today until 8 that is, locals here get up when the sun rises and go back as it sets and there is cockerel right our side our bedroom window. Had breakfast and headed out on our tuk tuk to see in the inner circle of temples ...

... that morning. Beth was pretty tired, and I was a little worn out from the time change, the heat, and the water fights. I hadn't seen any of the 'big' sights in Bangkok yet, wanting to save those for after Beth arrived, so we saw the Grand Palace and the giant reclining Buddha at Wat Pho. The Grand Palace was absolutely beautiful. The grounds were huge and all the buildings were incredibly ornate. The giant reclining Buddha at Wat Pho ...
