There's only one thing more exciting than driving on Cornish roads in the sunshine - that's driving in the mist and rain, which we've had a bit of in the last few days. But enough of the commentary. ... south to Lamorna a small beach which can only be accessed by car descending down a winding nail biting one way lane catering for two way traffic. After exploring a coastal walk and the beach we drove to Logan Rock Inn where we lunched on local Cornish fare. I ordered a half pint Cornish Rattler cloudy cider from the tap and had one of the best pies I can remember with thick juicy steak pieces in a rich sumptuous gravy sauce. Day 4 - Saturday 21st Sept.
Today was a free day for us to explore the historic town of Falmouth. We had numerous options for filling in our day. We chose a ferry trip to St Mawes, where we visited St Mawes Castle, built during the reign of Henry VIII. Another quaint fishing village with more unique galleries & shops.
Home very foot sore & weary.
... to explain the two natures of Christ - human and divine. Outside we explored the haphazard graveyard marked with random Celtic crosses. A sundial on the church wall features cross bones and angels representing death and immortality. Somehow this all seems more believable in the grey windswept Cornish late afternoon haze. ... s Flagship Restaurant at Padstow. We were not disappointed.
Our base for the next 3 nights is here in Falmouth where we have just arrived & now we plan to do a brisk walk to burn off some of those calories put on after our lunch.
