Arrived in Canandaigua New York around 5 o'clock and checked into my room at the Lafayette motel. The motel is a very nice mom-and-pop motel. It's nothing overly fancy but the grounds are maintained, the room is clean, and the bed is comfortable. There is a restaurant on the property that operates from 7 AM until 8 PM, and another restaurant across the street. Debbie, at the front desk, was very nice. Total cost of the room for the night $75. I stopped in Geneva to look for a gas station. Geneva is a very nice college type town with a wonderfully revitalized downtown area, but there did not appear to be an abundance of gas stations.
