We went to the beach. $5/adult for the beach pass through the hotel. We spent most of the day there. Garrett started off complaining about how much he hates the beach, then after a couple hours he was loving it. Both boys played in the waves and built sand castles. We chose to hike in early Spring, as the weather is nice (a bit colder than late Spring) and the congestion along the trail (regular trekkers and summit expeditions) is less. Fewer people mean more lodging options and better rates.

With time of year and mountain side selected, we needed to determine the route we would take to get to EBC and back. ...
