Near the end of the whirlwind of traveling these last 2 weeks, I am standing with the Gulf of Alaska behind me.

... volcanos where you could see steam coming out. Also a perfect place for watching eagles and seeing the fishermen pulling their nets. Bob had us jump in his Kawasaki Mule and gave us a tour of the upper bluff. Bob smokes salmon and brought over some for us to try, and Brenda made a dip for chips--chopped clams, cilantro, onions, lime juice. Wow, were they ...
Ninilchik, Alaska, United States ranlo... We visited Kenai, a small city to see the Church. It rained on our way to Homer. Just before we arrived at Homer, at the hilltop overlooking homer spit, this place offered a spectacular view of the glaciers! There're two telescope that enabled us to see the ship on the sea and car on the spit, not to mention the ice/snow on the glacier.
The B&B was very ...
... the clam cleaning really attracts them. Watched two fighting over food and chasing one another into the hillside.
The people we’re parked next to work here during the summer. They were clamming and had two full buckets. While we were talking, we were surprised to see several eagles flying above us; this area has lots of eagles around the beaches. Our neighbors saw a moose and ...
... for two days, which gave us time to get caught up on computer projects and other household chores. This area is noted for having the best halibut fishing in the world. Not real eager to go out on the water fishing in this weather, which is predicted for the next week.
Ninilchik, Alaska, United States ranlo... was worth it. The entire trip we were within sight of two volcanoes in the Alaskan chain, one of which is actively venting (See photo). It was kind of neat to be charter fishing and watching an active volcano at the same time. After we got back from fishing we went exploring and came across a cow moose with two mooselets. We were driving into another campground looking for a lighthouse and they just walked out of the ...
Ninilchik, Alaska, United States harrynsue... and let me tell you none of us will forget it. A definite 10. Today we are all about work, dieting, and exercising. Our local storefront representative Bruce says he has never heard of cheeks making it off the fishing boats because they are so valued. We all feel satisfied and smug. He's offering some home caught caribou for next week's dinner. Enough rhetoric. Enjoy the pictures and I'll see you when I get home in a little less than a week.
Homer, Alaska, United States kitchenshrink... is beautifull eventhough it is still cloudy but at least we can see some thing. What a site. Glaciers dans fall in the Katchemack bay and we are camping right on the spit right at the ferry terminal. We drove along a narrow road that gives us fantastic views (see pictures in your email). Tomorrow we will go to Seward on the golf of Alaska, and maybe Valdez. My time is limited at the library where I am writing to you from, so I must go. Talk to you tomorrow.
