The land flattened out as we drove north of Cincinnati towards Columbus, and we were in very nice looking farmland which was growing corn and what looked to be soybeans (need you Don to know for sure!!). ... headed into town to find our hotel. We came across a carousal down town. We had to stop and let my son ride. Mom and I also paid to ride. I was impressed with the style and ages of the buildings in Mansfield. I love old buildings, however I was not impressed with the upkeep of them. They all looked tired and run down. When I realized Gambier was just 5 miles of of Rt 66, I had to stop. It was 2:30 so I decided to stay and do a walk down memory lane. I checked into the Kenyon Inn and toured the campus. First time back in 41 years and it has changed very little. Had a great dinner, met a couple people, and I am writing this on the veranda with a cold beer. The perfect ending ...
... on this afternoon...tomorrow we're in two cities and neither city has a sponsor, so we're on our own! We've set up a radio interview so far and we're waiting on a call back from the newspaper. The library in Millersburg may be able to utilize us, but we're waiting to hear back from them.
Staying in an RV park tonight, so hopefully there will be internet access...one can always hope. :)
