      Rocks & Wolves

A travel blog entry by jmpncsu on Nov 23, 2014

Sunday morning, we woke up and went to breakfast with Sandy’s dad. After breakfast, we started heading north. There was a detour on MD-24 at Rocks State Park and we had to make a detour. We followed MD-23 to MD-165 and took the short gravel drive to the Falling Branch area of the park. We arrived just before 10 and had to wait a couple minutes for the gates to open. Once the park opened, ...

We then decided that we would head to our camping site - Hershey
Campground. It was raining when we left and it ...

... along broad river valleys. The countryside featured acres of corn or forests of autumn shades. We eventually arrived, just in time for a bite of tea and a swim.
We explored the area around Lancaster which is made up of lots of farm land and little villages, as well as covered bridges. Saw several Amish families going about their daily business, many of the businesses are owned and run by ...

... are beautiful and the people obviously take pride in the appearance of the town. We went to 3 yard sales. Nothing was purchased, but there was some good prices on some good things! Alas even if we could get it home what would we want with a beautiful antique wooden carpet sweeper? We settled on a bakery in town for breakfast and had some kind of delicious Amish cinnamon cake. Many of the foods in town are promoted as ‘Amish Made’.
