Today we left Stratford Upon Avon (eventually). How Bill got round all the one systems with all that traffic and all those tourists I don't know. Not that I got lost three times round the same one way system! We got to a launderette (I get told off for airing my dirty washing in public, so I shouldn't tell you about it)! ... past the Reggie music shop blaring the music, but it is somehow not offensive to the ears. There are a lot of people here and it is crowded but it seems to add to the atmosphere. As you check out the wears from one shop to another you lose track of time. I have been looking for something for a September birthday girl in the family and I may be able to find it somewhere in here.

There are so many sites, sounds and smells the entertainment value hits high on the scale. ...

The State Apartments were open today and it was a stunning walk with audio guide through this part of the castle. No photos though, The furnishings and fittings and collections are stunning, Ceramics, artworks, weaponry. So much better than Kensington palace in the UK or the Austrian /Viennese palaces in Europe.

Arrived at Heathrow at 10:00 am. Spent 10 minutes in the air circling and then 10 minutes on the ground waiting for a gate, since this time of the day is when a lot of flights start arriving in London.
