    ... plenty of takers on it. Walked right along the seafront to where they were working on the protection of the coastline from those huge storms. Have built a high sea wall of concrete and the hills above it have been netted and planted to stop them being eroded. They are trying to protect the fossils that are found all along this part of the coast and stop them being washed away and lost to locals and tourists. Back home for a quiet afternoon of R&R and pack up for moving on ...

    ... in America. Next drove along back roads to Stoke and Newton Ferris both places little villages tucked away amongst the hills. Continued on to the pretty town of Modbury, through Kingsbridge and the very small village of Buckland Tout Sands ( photo of yellow thatched cottage). Continued to drive along coast road through Torness to Dartmouth a nice seaside town with so many yachts moored as do most of the villages.     ... for the lady of the house as a resting place on the hillside, but a grandson brought a black bear back from Canada (as you do) and it lived in the hut. Also had an interesting icehouse where they stored ice collected from the river and elsewhere. It held enough ice to keep the household going for three years.
