Just a short six mile hike today from Hayle to the very
popular tourist destination of St Ives.

As I walked I couldn’t help remembering a riddle in one of the Arthur Mee’s Children’s encyclopaedias that I must have read as an eight or nine year old.

        Hello there.

We left The Rudloe Arms and hit the misty highway to head south into the heart of the West Country: Cornwall. We'd heard about the Eden Project for years and seeing as though we were down this way it was a no-brainer. Jen found tickets on-line that also allowed us into the cool sounding "Lost Garden of Heligan." Seeing as it was only 10 miles from Eden, again, it was a no-brainer. Driving further west to Land's End we pass along hedged lanes, past stone farm houses and one section that is like cold climate rainforest, if there is such a ...

Down the M5 to Devon and Cornwall, via Bristol, Taunton, Exeter and Plymouth.

Weather has turned for the worst, showers and fog, but temp is still 15, and doesn't feel that cold. Stopped at Teignmouth for lunch, a nice coastal holiday town heading towards Torquay.

Torquay is a big holiday town on the South Coast. We continue heading ...

... s place and when we arrived it was raining so the general consensus was to go for coffee. Great idea as by the time we'd finished the sun was out and St Ives was looking glorious and the water was beautiful. It made us want to swim. We walked around the coast and along a lovely beach and looking up at the hill there was quite a large cemetery and I commented that they had the ...
