      Today was in the 40s but still raw and chilly. We walked north today, up Madison and fifth avenue, stopping at a watch store and the Beretta store. We had a great lunch at Lavo on e58. Again, place was jammed with holiday parties but we sat in bar by front window so was great.       Although above freezing, the day was grey, damp and threatening rain. After a nice breakfast in the small dining room ( pastries, fresh fruit), we bundled up and went to walk.       We were supposed to go to NYC on Sunday dec 15 but Jerry had a sinus infection and I was battling a respiratory thing so the hotel graciously allowed us to drop a day.
