Got off the outer banks today but made the school boy error of not booking the ferry.

The island has been cut off for 2 days and the US tourists are running scared and heading for home.

Got to the ferry and they said it was full and booked solid for several days. This meant retracing our steps for 100's of miles.

Bill did his level best at smoozing but the ferryman was having none of it. We weren't getting on.
