... We had pizza and pasta and filled our stomachs before walking a bit further and into the main part of town. Before we reached the old town walls, we came across a gelateria called Ciao which was celebrating 30 years this month and had very good gelati.....we of course all had to have one! The locals must have thought we were mad as we ate our gelati under our umbrellas. We continued on down the road and into the main part of town towards the duomo. ...

... we're talking wing mirrors in and 5 cm clearance maximum!

Luckily we made it and were off onto the mountain pass, which was also quite an experience, especially when we rounded a bend to find an SUV with a guy sitting in the boot (door open) and leading a trotting horse up the road, while his mate drove....

Further on there were no more real moments of awe, and we managed to find Camping Nettuno, located right on the beach, ...

... allowed. Perhaps a ploy to sell their postcards and books! Anyhow, as I was saying, there were statues crafted from single pieces of marble which depicted figures with veils covering them but you can see through the veil. Also a wonderful one with a statue holding a fishing net- . Well--- you'd have to see it to know just how amazing they were. Of course, we had seen a similar statue of a veiled woman at Chatsworth ...

Today we visited one of the most beautiful and luxurious lakes in the world. Lake Como, where some of the most famous movie stars/singers/actors holiday and live. It is beautiful there. It was a bit chilly but the water was really clear in some parts of the lake and tempted us. There are a lot of amazing villas on the water front and in the hills. The villas were more like palaces.
