... since found out that it is the most visited grave by school kids from England on the Western Front. It was then onto the Yorkshire Trench & Dugout which had been re-discovered during some canal works in 1998. During excavation hundreds of remains and artifacts were discovered. It seems wherever you dig around here you'd find the same. The Passchendaele Museum and Tyne Cot Cemetery and Memorial were next. Tyne Cot is the largest burial cemetery in the world with nearly ...

Belgium is a favourite so far! The town is beautiful - feels like we're in a storybook. Poppies are everywhere. There is evidence all over town of John McCrae's poem. The Menin Gate is a huge arch into Ypres, with the names of another 54000 men with no known graves, and crowds gather there every night. There must have been over 1000 there today. The Last Post Ceremony is beautiful, simple and very ...

They are the ones who drowned in mud, who were vaporized by bombs and who may have been trapped in a collapsed trench. They may yet be out there, waiting for a farmer to till his soil too vigorously one year. They are the ones who lie, in Flanders fields.
