15,000ft and falling...!!!!!!!!!
... it was happening and I did enjoy it….but I’m in no hurry to do it again! Sky dive box ticked.
The rest of my time in Taupo seemed to be spent indoors as it pretty much rained solidly for the next few days. The Tongariro Crossing hike (which includes the opportunity to climb up Mount Doom from the Lord of the Rings) was cancelled each day due to bad weather so I took the opportunity to relax and enjoy doing nothing but watch films and eat! I met some cool people ...

It took 25 long minutes to climb to 15,000ft, and when we arrived at maximum height, the quiet plane suddenly became filled with the rush of air as the plane door opened... I can remember the actual dive in feelings and snapshots. The first snapshot is swinging my legs over the plane's edge and gaping down into the wide expanse of fluffy cloud and blue sky, feeling absolutely terrified ...

We then went for a walk by the lake. Lake Taupo is New Zealands largest lake (it is about the size as the whole land area of Singapore!!) and it was created by the volcano erupting in 181AD, the resulting crater hole was filled with water to create the lake.

Fallschirmsprung
... am Hostel.
Dort haben wir uns dann an den See aufgemacht um uns eine Stunde auszuruhen. Auf dem Weg dorthin sind wir auch noch am Mc Donalds vorbeigelaufen und der hat hier ein richtiges Flugzeug nebendran, indem man auch sein Essen zu sich nehmen kann =). Aber mein Körper war noch immer voll aufgedreht vom Sprung und ich brauchte erst mal Ruhe.
Eine Kuriosität hier aus Taupo: Man kann hier Golf spielen und zwar schießt man vom Ufer ...
