... very blowy, wet & wild. All the blood kept rushing to my furry head as Martyn had put me in the tank bag sideways & the bike was leaning so far over to keep upright in the wind. I peeked out at the view to see a very big flood at the dip in the road. A big artic. truck was heading towards us on the other side & met us at the bottom. It make such a big splash that everybody disappeared ...
Ammanford, Wales, United Kingdom charliebearsI had to move hotels since the main one was fully book on this night.
So, it was over to the Lamphey Court Hotel - an old mansion that was converted. Not the same as the spa hotel in Saundersfoot, but this one does have an indoor pool.
It was an adventure trying to get here. With all the rain, the roads were flooding. If it weren't for TomTom, I'm not sure I would have found the 4th way to get to the hotel. And I still had to drive through standing water.
Back at the St. Brides Spa Hotel in Saundersfoot.
Unfortunately, winter doesn't make this the best place to stay. It's dark when you are at the hotel, so you don't get the views. And the spa doesn't stay open late enough in the winter. At least I will get to enjoy it over the weekend.
And the walk along the coast - kind of scary in the dark. But you do get to see a bunch of stars and parts of the Milky Way because there isn't much light pollution out here.
... it apparently sprung up on the spot where St David was born.
We are now in Fishgaurd, one of the ports along the west coast of Wales. We're staying in a hostel run by a bit of a local legend, he went off backpacking and didn't return for 20 years - apparently has done and seen it all, even was a taxi driver in mexico for a while! Evidently Fishguard is known at the last village in Great ...
... and ibuprofen to finish. And all the temporary friends ,well met, who would stay with me in my memory for ever.
I reached the other side of the main square lit up a Lucky Strike and turned slowly, aware now I was at the end of a trip and this was the last thing I would do on it. There was the cathedral. OOOOOOH! and yes breathless I was. My eyes leaked Little as I tried to take it all in. "Bloody hell"
Ah adventure!

A pretty well preserved castle.
One of the main towers was closed for some work, so I didn't get to climb everything. And the other tower is reserved for bats.
Did have an interesting little chapel.
Good views of the castle across the water.
Woke up to blue skies after a beautiful sleep of about 12 hours this morning.
We hit the Pembrokeshire coastal path first thing - we were both in awe of how beautiful it was - God is such an amazing artist. I think too, when you're cramped in the city for a long time, you appreciate it all the more. So yeah, it was beautiful, where we started was this mill that had been in operation ...
Ok, this is just a quick check that all is running smoothly with the blog, as I've had some problems. Hopefully You're all now getting e mail updates when a new entry is posted. We've also retrieved the log in details for the travelpod account we created last year so that you can log in and make (nice!) comments. Well done ...
Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom cusan... I was a bit nervous about that as it would cost £2500 to replace the bike.
We wandered around town, had a pint at the Castle Hotel, another at the White Horse then grabbed a table for dinner at the Angel, which proved to be a good choice. I had butternut squash soup and a blue rump steak while Sarah had huge, tasty prawns and a swordfish steak with excellent chips.
... of civil engineering that they did. Caerleon changed my impression. Since Caerleon was one of three major Roman camps on the British Isle, the level of civic development that occurred there was quite extensive. Much of it still survives, thereby giving one a strong grasp of the type of life they led.
There are four structures to visit at Caerleon: the ampitheatre, the barracks, the baths, and the museum. The ampitheatre is the most impressive ...
