We are well and truly off the grid here in Denali. We spend our time going on local hikes and trails, enjoying the out of doors and just hanging out. I am really tired and it is good not to have every minute of the day accounted for. In the afternoon the sun comes out and we get our first evening sat outside with a bottle of wine. ...

We left and soon found very bumpy roads and gravel washboards again but not as many as we had experienced yesterday. ...

... Not much employment in the town hence the reliance on subsistence life style. We visited the visitor centre and watched a few documentaries about early life in Kotzebue and education of high school Eskimos. High school students were shipped of to various schools around Alaska and boarded away from home at the governments expense for the years at high school. Not quite as bad as taking the children away from their parents for good as we did. Alaska now has a policy of ...

      ... arrived from Denali.

Our motorcoach finally arrived, and transported us to Anchorage within a few hours, where we had a very nice room at the Anchorage Hilton. We didn't see any moose or bear on the 3-hour drive to Anchorage.

We settled in and walked around the downtown area until we found Glacier Bay Brewhouse, and enjoyed pizza and Imperial Blonde beer. It was fantastic! Although ...
