Oh Montana, soo beautiful in October. Farms, mountains, horses and cattle in the fields, the Bitterroot Valley is ablaze with yellow leaves. Finally we found some fall color. Fly fishermen alont the Salmon River in the morning reflect in the river as we walk by. Back on the road we slowly gain altitude and pull over at a sign for hot springs. ... days we've had riding, and I didn't really want it to stop. Then we are in Salmon, eastern Idaho. Nice bike friendly motel (Salmon River) and after an easy stroll through Main Street in to the Bertram Brewery for dinner. Yuuuum again, and not much left. ... my chair and ipod and found a spot in the sun to watch him fish. It was a simple and perfect way to spend the afternoon. That night we made dinner, and realized that the temperature was dropping fast. We built a fire, but eventually gave into snuggling under the covers in our tent.

... I sort of became their leader. All the ladies looked to me to pick our lines and to lead them through the rapids as best as I could. I'm certainly not the best boater but I can read water pretty well so I felt o.k. making the decision. I would tell them what line I was going to run and they could follow me if they wanted to.

I ran the line I decided on and had no problems whatsoever. The ladies who decided to follow me also did well. ...
