    ... yet looks about as normal as Bonners Ferry. Tire shops, traffic, road construction, gas stations, coffee shops. In fact, aesthetically it's much nicer than Bonners Ferry. 3000 people, I think it was, about the same size as our podunk town.

    Today, if all goes according to plan, I'll get home. I was telling people I'd be gone for a week, when it turned out to be ten days. I didn't do any of my gardening because I couldn't be there to tend it. ...

    Anyway, I travelled a mile and found a gate across the road. Decision made for me. Beyond the gate, I could see that the road continued on an uphill climb - who knows how high. I ought to be glad that there was a gate across the road, because I would have gone and gone, up and up, probably until I got stuck or stranded or worse!     ... Salmon River Scenic Byway which coursed along the meandering river for the next 60 miles. Coming into the town of Salmon we started to look for a place to camp for the night. We pulled into Heald's Haven RV Park which was the most idyllic and serene camps we have stayed in yet. It is a small campground with only 12 sites nestled in a beautiful mountain valley on the banks of the Salmon river. There was only one other RV here.     ... Bailey Bar Camp and came to our next rapid class II Allison Ranch Rapid. Allison was a pretty straightforward rapid, you just needed to avoid the giant hole on river left near the bottom of the rapid.
