        On the 28 today I had the same worry... do any of these small towns have a gas station? Turns out, just about every one of them does! I was driving for such long lonely stretches, not seeing a soul, going my direction or the other, and thinking - there's nobody here! Well, you go through lots of that, then you find where everybody is. Salmon, actually turned out to be a good-sized town, bustling with business. Who knew! It's just tucked away in the middle ...

        Anyway, I travelled a mile and found a gate across the road. Decision made for me. Beyond the gate, I could see that the road continued on an uphill climb - who knows how high.         ... Salmon River Scenic Byway which coursed along the meandering river for the next 60 miles. Coming into the town of Salmon we started to look for a place to camp for the night. We pulled into Heald's Haven RV Park which was the most idyllic and serene camps we have stayed in yet. It is a small campground with only 12 sites nestled in a beautiful mountain valley on the banks of the Salmon river. There was only one other RV here.         ... Bailey Bar Camp and came to our next rapid class II Allison Ranch Rapid. Allison was a pretty straightforward rapid, you just needed to avoid the giant hole on river left near the bottom of the rapid.
