... the length in about 10 minutes. There is a historic boardwalk, the historic part is that is survived the 1964 earthquake. Know as the Great Alaskan Earthquake it lasted nearly three minutes and was the most powerful recorded earthquake in US and North American history. and the second most powerful ever measured by seismograph with a magnitude of 9.2.

It was very interesting just to see all of the unusual artifacts ...

... into the many stores. I drove down the mud filled road to Anchor harbor where I spotted three eagles flying, but too far to capture on camera. They are awesome creatures. Once again, I spent the night in a parking spot just off the road ( free). Just pull in a stay for the night.

Back on the road to Seward in the morning and some very amazing scenery. Seward, again, is a really neat fishing village. I took a short 2 mile hike to the Exit Glacier ...

It was pretty exciting to celebrate Independence Day in Alaska. Alaska is such a patriotic state. We decided to go to Seldovia, on the south side Kachemak Bay. The ****** economy seems to have finally caught up to Alaska. business is down this year and I'm sure that many stores and restaurants are hurting just like the rest of America has been feeling for the last couple of years. its still the beginning of the season and we are hoping that things pick up but at the moment, it is slow and that makes the day just drag by that much slower.
