Dinner upon arrival at the very tip of Homer Spit- magnificent setting and a fine meal... complete with an eagle flying less than 10 feet above us!

The moment we set foot in Seldovia the lights went out. The owner of our hotel was quite put out and only gave us one of our rooms so we could store the luggage until the lights came back. The owner of the coffee shop and used book store said we could drink whatever coffee he had left -- and then we would have to wait til the power returned. ... fall of last year, i am going to be so happy to be out from under both the financial debt and the wounded pride. its been about a year but things are hopefully getting back on track.
