... quite a fast train, smooth ride and comfy with beautiful scenery. A man came past a few times with a trolley of drinks and snacks so we had everything we needed for the journey. As we got closer to Zurich the Swiss Alps appeared with snow on the top, very pretty!!! Train arrived on time about 5pm, we disembarked and headed out of the giant train station in Zurich. Took us a little while to ...

(note my favorite bit of trivia from all of this: one major reason used to ...

... also widely know as the building that inspired the look of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle in Disneyland. There was a heavily enforced no photo policy inside the castle, so unfortunately I cannot show you inside other than the kitchen, which we saw after the tour was over. The thirty minute tour consisted of several rooms including the sevarnt quarters, the throne room, King Ludwig’s bedroom and Great Hall, all with several long winding ...

... pounds of gold leaf in its lavish decoration. From Linderhof we drove through the countryside to Murnau, a small town those of you cognizant of 20th-century Impressionism will recognize as the location Wassily Kandinsky and his partner Gabrielle Munter chose to escape the scorn of the Munich art establishment and founded what would become "Die Blaue Reiter", the Blue Riders. We found the house where Kandinsky and Munter lived, and saw some of ...
