... close around 5 pm but when the cruise ships are in town the opening hours are extended to include an "Illuminated" tour. We were the only two NON cruisers on the tour. The Gardens are a 35 minute drive out of Victoria at Tod's Bay and the 22 hectares of gardens were created by Jennie Butchart 100 years ago in an attempt to re-beautify the site of her husband's limestone quarry. ... in line at the terminal I also managed to snag a Munzee -- bonus! Aside from learning of the unfortunate and sudden loss of an acquaintance from home, the ferry ride was lovely and uneventful. That hour and a half flew right by. We're staying at The Embassy Inn; once again Tripadvisor did not fail me. ... had an intimate dinner for two at the restaurant on our final night aboard the Silver Shadow. Jini was our server in the restaurant and was so sweet, even checking with me to make sure the Indian dish I had ordered wasn't too spicy. I told her that it was indeed spicy and that my mouth was on fire, but that was a good thing. I like spicy food and I like that Silversea isn't afraid to offer some spicy, flavorful options.

Oak Bay Village Main Street was where we got off to spend an hour browsing and window shopping, buying some delicious fresh apricot fruit bread from a bakery to enjoy for our breakfast the next few mornings.
