Flew RyanAir from London Stanstead to Cork. Took our own sandwiches and were thankful that the metal tent pegs didn't get confiscated (because they have flat ends apparently....) Managed to get everything we needed for a week of camping in 2 checked-in bags & 2 pieces of carry-on (one of which was the tent!)

Woke up to absolutely glorious weather, much to the surprise of our landlady who, on hearing that we had a week of camping ahead, launched into dire warnings of Irish weather, ie, 'did y'not know it always rains in Ireland?'

... Feels like summer! Sunny and in the 70's, I actually wore shorts today! I attended a lecture by brother Richard that related the hero’s journey in Harry Potter, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and Narnia.. .very fascinating! I also had a lovely conversation with the cute old lady who was walking her puppies. Why is everyone so nice here!

Yestday was a beautiful day in Cork, Ireland. The sun was shining all day, I had no classes and the wind stayed down for a nice mild day! If only our dorm had somewhere nice to sit. I settled for opening my window as wide as it would go and leaving my shades open all day!
