I almost hate to admit it, but it has taken us over 7 hours to drive just 140kms. We left our hotel in Carmel at 9am and arrived in Carmel-by-the-Sea a few minutes later, so we could have a look at this pretty little town before making our way south. What a day to arrive early in Carmel-by-the-Sea, with half of the streets closed for parking due to a forthcoming town parade. The grounds include an amazing pool and Roman bath area and many gorgeous fountains and gardens. There are numerous tours you can do and we only did the basic one, if we'd had more time we would have done more and I highly recommend going and doing at least two of the tours while you're there, it's an amazing place.
