... our "boss" during that afternoon so he could get us up to speed to any changes that may have occurred in our absence. After filling out necessary paperwork, we were assigned Thursday through Saturday as duty days and every other Wednesday. The other hosts will work Sunday through Tuesday and every other Wednesday. I jokingly informed the boss that since today, Tuesday, is really not our work day that we are going to take Wednesday off. He saw no humor in that at all.

As Volunteers we are an extra set of hands to help out where ever they need us. As the seasons change so do some of the Volunteer duties. Each comes with it's own learning experience. We are always full of '50 questions' and the staff are always so gracious and answer. As volunteers we commit to 20 hours per week in exchange for a campsite with a full hookup for our RV. This morning we tended to our early morning chores by opening up the egg incubation room and the visitors center, checking for any trash that may have been deposited in the parking lot and checking for "morts" in the trout ponds.
