Mad and boring motorways
... in behind me.
As it was Saturday I the roads were quite clear and I never encountered a single jam the whole journey.
I stopped at some services after 150 miles and had my usual cup of hot chocolate. I was running well early and so simply sat here in the warmth of the restaurant for about an hour. On heading back onto the m/way I got up to speed and right away (again) realized I had forgotten to put in my ear plugs. On long boring roads like ...
We love Amsterdam!
... t quite make it due to our little excursion to veeneendaal.. after the tour, we met up with maddy's friend wee wee (Jeroen) and his friend Jornt at centraal station. They didn't seem to like Amsterdam very much, so after a while we agreed to go to their hometown Veeneendaal with them, since they promised it was so amazing. It really wasn't. After spending about an hour trying to find centraal station again, we gave up and took the metro. Obviously, we didn't pay! ;) ...
Unscheduled stay in Amsterdam
... was so upset and concerned that we were not going to go on the cruise at all. It was heartbreaking to manage the disappointment of a tired little girl that was so excited to arrive and board the ship.
Fortunately, the staff at KLM was super helpful and worked hard to make sure we would get to Monte Carlo before the ship sets sail tomorrow.

When e sun was out, we were fine, but unfortunately, the sun was shining less and less as we ate our lunch of soup and sandwiches. It was at this point, after Kampen that we started our ride along the zeider zee. I suspect, that generally, this is a beautiful and pleasant ride, winding as it does through gorgeous sheep and cow pastures, peppered ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Suite 259 Amsterdam
What a find at Suite 259!!!!
Arriving after a long flight we were warmly welcomed by Peter and Aziz with a beautiful suite and a fantastic breakfast. I wanted to bring my husband on a special vacation and the owners of Suite 259 made our trip easy, accommodating, and fun. Each morning our breakfast was served in the elegant breakfast area and Peter and Aziz would help us with any of our needs for the day. The Grand Suite was absolutely charming and stocked with everything we could want. The decor was absolutely beautiful and was kept pristine clean. We have decided to return every few months and stay with Peter and Aziz who we know will always provided first class service. We recommend Suite 259 to anyone looking for a pleasant and truly lovely place to stay. Warmly, Kathy and Al
Beautiful Apartment, Fantastic Owners, Suite 259 is #1
My husband and I stayed at Suite 259 for Valentine's week and had a blast! Peter & Aziz are warm, wonderful, funny, helpful and just plain sweet! Peter's amazing DVD collection kept us entertained on cloudy, rainy days and Aziz's breakfast kept us nourished and satisfied every morning. The apartment was truly fantastic, made me not want to come back to New York. It was our second time to "The Dam" and we had as lovely a time as the first visit. The weather was warmer than it is in NY this time of year and we walked and walked until we couldn't walk anymore. If we could find jobs, we'd pack our bags and stay forever. I highly recommend Amsterdam for a European break and if in the Dam you must stay at 259!!!
This is the one!!
Peter's help began with his Hello wave upon arrival, carrying our bags up the stairs to the Grand Sahara suite, excellent advise on directions, restuarants, trains and trams and always with good humor.
Aziz's excellent breakfasts were enjoyed with easy going conversation with both of them. The light, bright and spotless Grand Sahara suite, located in the back of this canal style house, is well worth the extra Euro or 2 vs the Safari . You'll enjoy the living room/adjacent private patio downstairs and the comfortable quiet bedroom up the spiral staircase. The highspeed computer in the living room, widescreen tv and all 300+dvd's in Peter's collection, wine, fruit, cheese, bottled water, sodas, and beer are all complimentary. Suite 259 is only steps from the tram stop, perfect for sightseeing without the noise of the tourist area. This first try at a B&B has sold us, get out of a hotel and enjoy a home away from home.
What a gem!
This is SUCH a lovely place to stay! When we walked into the appartment, we could hardly believe how luxurious it was, and at the same time such a pleasant and unique place to stay - really conveniently located for the musea, shops, trams, everything. Breakfast the next morning was something else yet again! Really delicious and a wonderful start to the day. Lucky us for having found this place and having had the opportunity to stay here. I shall recommend it to all my friends!

When you walk in, you know you,ve made the right choice. It,s magnificantly bright, open and decorated to perfection. The breakfast is first class, it gets you off to a great start in this fantastic city. We will always return to this appartement. Mitch and Kylie Australia.

Sweet Suite 259!
I just have to let other travellers to Amsterdam know of this absolutely fabulous bed and breakfast. Me and my husband have been regular guests in Amsterdam for the last 15 years. We used to stay at the big hotels, but since I stumbled on to Suite 259 on the internet I refuse to stay elsewhere. It is simply perfect and you are truly getting a lot for your money. We have stayed in both suites since August 2003 and they are wonderful, although of course there is even more space and luxury in the larger one; Grand Suite Sahara. Beautiful decorations, everything for your comfort; fast and free internet access, DVD player, fresh fruit, coffee machine and complimentary cold beverages, even an excellent bottle of wine to welcome you. The bed linens are amazing and everything is clean, clean, clean! The very friendly hosts Peter and Aziz really know what they are doing. They are also extremely helpful if you need any assistance or information. Aziz is an excellent cook and will make what you wish for breakfast! I did not want to leave and I can´t wait to stay there again. Freyja.
Luxury Apartment with B 7 B fell
Lovely hosts Aziz and Peter made our stay in Amsterdam unforgettable. Our room the Safari suite was well thought out and every need catered for. Breakfast was served in lovely surroundings and varied every day according to what we felt like eating. If you would like to stay in Amsterdam with class then this is your place.
Stylish and homely apartment in the heart amsterdam
What a delight to find accomodation that lives up to your expectations. My partner and I were impressed with the facilities and service provided. We stayed in the studio 'Safari Suite' beautifully decorated and spacious. Every detail in the room is thought of including coffee making facilities, fridge, microwave, complimentarty drinks and even umbrella's for the rainy patches. The hosts Peter and Aziz are friendly and helpful (including calling resturants for bookings). We have travelled extensively over Europe and this is one of our favourite B & B's.
