This was our day to enjoy Door County. We wanted to have a little taste of what it was all about. We'd already driven quickly through the cute little villages, and if we had more time we would have spent more time in them, and I do kind of feel badly we didn't, and I promise we'll do better next time if we are able to ever come again.

But the one thing that really ...

... all in all a good stop.

We had time before our Taleisin tour to visit Tower Hill State Park. This truly intrigued me, I had no idea how lead shot was made back in the day, it really is an amazing story. But this state park is in dire need of some TLC. Man, there were gypsies in the campground set up for the summer, the exhibits haven't been touched in what looked like 40 years ...

Now we will drive all the way through Minnesota and into the Palisades State Park, South ...

... I debated between taking out at Bridge 5 or in the park, and with Drifty's input decided on the Wildcat Park landing.

It was about 6 miles and took us 3 hrs. It was harder going than I expected with plenty of trees in the river to avoid and low water (thus sand bars), plus all the turns in the river. And though the river was low even a little bit of current ...

I was up early so went out to enjoy the sunrise over the river. Gorgeous, so peaceful and serene. This was our day to relax.

We went up to Parfrey's Glen. We had driven past yesterday (sunday) with the intention to see it, but with cars filling the parking lot and out onto the highway felt it wouldn't be the experience we wanted. Today was much better, we only saw ...
