... it was being cooked the heavens opened up and it absolutely bucketed with rain. Luckily we had a small shelter that kept us out of the rain. The curry was amazing and lovely and warm. After we finished eating we sat around playing drinking games. Things got pretty rowdy and even ended with all the Brits singing god save the queen while some random videoed it. Needless to say I took this as my cue to retreat to my tent for the ...

We camped only about 5 minutes from home at Doll Mountain. Had visits from neighbors (David, Brenda, Dot, Chrys, Bernie) and Tennessee friends, Sonny & Mary Beth. Claudia was able to go home each day to feed the cats. I was able to do some cleaning and fine tuning of ...

Day 36-38 Chattahoochee National Forest, GA

Back into the Mountains folks! We have been pampered too
long with bed and breakfasts, hotels, and motels. It was due time for some good
ole camping. Driving into northern Georgia was a real treat. The northern
portion of the state is where the Appalachian Mountains and the AT (Appalachian
Trail) begins. We have now been where the AT starts (Northern Georgia) and
where the AT ends 2,108.5 miles north east of here near ...

It has absolutely has been a God week. We've seen the salvation of God in people's lives and the unexpected work of Jesus. Words are hard to form.

Today, we got to sleep in a bit and then hit the Ocoee. The evening was a chicken and mashed potato meal and then the closing time of worship, trip video and rock ceremony.

Looking forward to getting back to Pell City and see how God continues to work!

Getting ready for trip to Zebulon, NC

A travel blog entry by jimhorak on Jul 10, 2014

After looking passively for an RV for years and actively for several months, we found the fifth wheel that we (really) wanted and we worked the deal. We hastily packed preparing for our trip. We already had other appointments scheduled in Georgia so we didn't get out of town until 5 PM. We would tie our purchase into a fun camping trip back home, centered around my NASCAR Experience Package in Charlotte, ...
