    ... has always been presented to me on top of a sugar cone, with two different flavored scoops, beckoning me to remember what it was like to be a kid again. In fact, though I like it when a wayward butterfly or ONE ladybug lands on me, because it makes me feel special; I prefer the giggle that comes from powdered sugar tickling my nose. It’s totally unavoidable when biting into a beignet and it’s wonderful! Enjoy!

    ... while hiking just made it worse. Hiking in the rain was fine, as it kept me cool and keeping moving kept me warm. I did a short day of only about 6 miles, since that was when I hit the next shelter. I was one of the first people there, so I snagged a spot inside and changed into some dry clothes. The rest of the day was spent under my down quilt watching the shelter fill up, which it did very quickly. Plenty of people had to camp around the shelter, or ...

    ... called Mountain Crossing that sells pizza and coffee so I quickly changed my mind. I ended up staying here in the hostel, it's supposed to pour tonight so I couldn't pass up the opportunity for a dry bed. Planning on doing about 11 miles tomorrow, it's supposed to rain and snow tomorrow so we will see if I'm able to make it to Low Gap ...

    ... I woke up at Stover around 7 and was able to get moving by 8:30. The day started off gold and wet, but the sun came out in the afternoon and it turned out to be an awesome day. I hiked a total of around 13 miles on Tuesday, and they were tough. The tallest mountain of the day was Sassafras which included a 600 foot climb followed by another mountain. Needless to say by the time I got to Gooch Shelter I was exhausted. I have never in my life been happier eating ...
