The plane was delayed which scuppered our carefully laid plan,
We arrived at Venice beach far too late for the youngest of our clan.
A quick meal and to bed was all that we could handle
To prepare for our day with the stars, the girls to light their candle!
A run along the beach in the rain left me feeling a bit

Stopped at Mel's Diner for lunch then hopped on the bike and headed for Simi Valley to visit Patricia & Dean. They have been working on the backyard project in the heat - at least my visit gave them a legitimate excuse to stop and get out ...
... s all done using the same sets. Learnt a lot of the tricks of the trade in Hollywood but the highlight was the King Kong and fast and furious 3d experiences. Seemed so real! Next we went to a live show called waterworld which was based on a kevin Costner movie from the 90s. Lots of action and explosions. We were about 2 hours in by this stage so it was time to go to Krusty Burger in Springfield for lunch.. Pretty average haha. ...
What I'll remember about my time in America:
* The toilets suck! I LOVE that! They suck the 'contents' with a powerful pull, rather than pushing from above like we do in NZ and England - I have a particular issue with pushing, not sucking toilets - mainly from my high fat diet - they're called 'floaters'!! NO problem in USA - thanks for that!!! I miss it already...
* The drivers are SO SO SO considerate, NOW I get why ...
