Algonquin park
Into the back country. We didn't really know what to expect heading to Algonquin Park. All we knew was that it is a massive provincial park in the middle of Ontario and "it's just beautiful" from the don't drink and drive commercial. A tough journey home
... side trip up to Teepee Lake before heading back to the Portage Store. Standing in the shallow water at the end of the lake was a large, brown shape – a moose!
The wind was picking up, and so we started our return journey. Getting back across Joe Lake to the portage was relatively easy. We had lunch by the river and then started on the tough bit - crossing Canoe Lake.

02 Algonquin Park
... On the return, I shared the trail with a groundhog who passed me in the opposite direction just one foot away; I think my quiet talking to him helped reduce any anxiety. Interesting that I only saw Red Trillium on the trail and the wind is keeping Black Flies away :).

Snow Snow Snow
... so many stars in my life) and of course the time i got to spend with my family :)
We snow shoed and tubed, which was awesomeeee so fun!! as you can probably tell with the photos...
it wasnt a usual holiday with dress and bikinis it was a holiday with a big winter jacket heavy boots scarves, gloves and hats but was so worth it!!
