... newer, prettier Roadtrek who asked me about the Dempster Highway in the Yukon. Met some folks from Michigan, heard several groups speaking german and others speaking french. The Fall Foliage season is obviously very popular. But now we’re both very tired. Don’t often walk that much or get that much fresh air when we’re on the road.

... the streams, wetlands and lakes are higher than normal and the ground is spongy wherever we walk. This last week of rain has left its mark.

... through Illinois which is very lush and green...and full of TRAFFIC! It was not even 4 p.m. and we were waaaaay south of Chicago and talk about congested! Luckily, we just had one section to maneuver through and then we were into Indiana before zipping into Michigan.

... around the shops there and had lunch in a place called the Cottage which was right on the lake. We tried out some Muskoka beers and visited both Tim Hortons. All very Canadian. We sat by the lake in some Muskoka chairs and talked about our trip and the party being planned for us at home.
