Sheila and I took a 5 hour sunset cruise with the Holo-Holo Cruise company. We boarded the 65' catamaran at about 3pm. We headed from the south side of the island to the western side - Napali coast. Whales were still in the area as we seen several whales including a mother and her calf. Once we turned at the Barking Sand Naval base, the waves started getting pretty heavy and the boat was rocking pretty good. ...

When searching for a couple of waterfalls today. Our first stop was Wailua Falls. We headed up the mountain and at the end of the road was Wailua Falls. The falls had two streams that dropped about 500 feet into a deep pool. We seen a couple of kids down in the pool on floats heading toward the waterfall. We looked for a way down but we could only conclude that these folks were rock climbers. It ...

We laughed after leaving the helicopter at how much our cheeks hurt from smiling so hard, and Derek enjoyed the solitude of Kaitlyn's speechlessness! This is a very rare occasion! Listening the a clip of the soundtrack while flying over the Jurassic Falls (classic) made the flight even more "epic" (also bordered on cheesy!) Not to ...

What an adventure! We (Marla, Lauren, Larry, Constance, Kathy & John) headed to Princeville Ranch for a horseback riding trip. We were met by Kalona, our guide for the trail. Teeny, tiny, little, itsy-bitsy Kalona was going to take us around the wilds of Kauai! We head out on our trusty steeds across the rolling hills of the Ranch. After an hour's ride, we dismounted and headed down, down, down a steep, slippery trail full of switchbacks and muddy steps. Turns out that ...

We spent a leisurely morning at the Hanalei Roasters drinking locally microroasted coffee and walking around Hanalei's shops. We had a great time looking at local artist's work, checking out vintage 40's Hawaiian memorabilia and scoped out a few places to eat. We sampled the delicious nuts at Hanalei Nut Rosters, picture this - butterscotch macadamia nuts! Yum. We joined ...
