      We drove 45 mins to Kapaa and rented cruiser bikes to bike the islands seawall. The trail was very short, maybe 10km and about 45 minute very leisurely bike ride. We stopped at the beach along the way back and had our daily beach time so all in all, we took just over 2 hours to do the do the whole thing and spend an hour at the beach. ...

      ... more could we have asked for. We have been blessed to be able to experience this together as we have left a footprint on the beaches and trails of Kauai and another piece of our travellust hearts filled with love and gratitude as Kauai will forever have left an imprint on our hearts.
      oh and thank you for the chocolate covered macadamian nuts..definitely had our fair share of those!

The highway along the north side of the island, where we are staying, literally hugs the side of the mountain in areas as you peer straight down out of the vehicle to the ocean below crashing onto volcanic looking rock.       ... through the water. Melissa still preferred to hop along the large rocks. About 3.5 miles into this hike and pressure to move quicker because other hikers are gaining on us, I start to get nauseous from not having enough fuel in me from that 1 little nutra grain bar. Melissa had 2 so she is still going strong. I push through the remaining .5 miles to the falls knowing a sandwich awaits my arrival. We reached the falls and it is spectacular. ...
