Day 33 - Goulburn to Picton

... on our entire ride across Australia today, and got some glimpses of the Blue Mountains on a couple of occasions - very scenic!

Staying at the Picton High School tonight and the family of Nick will be looking after us for tea - looking forward to it.

Had to push Butticus's bus up the driveway to get it started - flat battery. Good way to stretch the calves after a day's ride!

South New South Wales

Start of a new adventure!

... 5nights hanging out on the beach surfing, swimming and playing frizby! We also did a bush walk and saw kangaroos! (luckily no spiders or snakes!) Just to put in the usual i was ill again or continued with the same illness... feeling beat by it we went to A & E (it was a holiday so all doctors were closed) They spent about 40 mins with me trying to find what was wrong. After checking EVERYTHING my results are completely clear... so we are still none the wiser but ...

The Jenolan Caves and the Blue Mountains

I made my way to the Jenolan Caves in the Blue Mountain National Park. Even the drive into the cave area was cool- the road actually went under the Grand Arch which is part of the cave system and were many of the cave trails originate from. I took a walk around the lake right outside the cave- in the hopes of glimpsing one of the platypus that live there, but no luck- and then toured the Pools of ...

Back to civilisation

... like most things in the area, and wandered along the cliff edge above a huge canyon (eek!), followed by a tough up hill walk through more spectacular scenes and the valley of the waterfalls. We also drove about an hour or so into the mountains to The Jenolan caves and explored some of the dark wonders of these famous limestone caves - cool! A day never to be forgotten is Big Day Out, which Mitch managed to get me a ticket for (nice one). This is a ...
