    ... raging storm at the airport delayed the flight, because our plane to Austin couldn't get into Dulles and had been rerouted during the storm. Eventually it arrived, we boarded and taxied about 100 yards, when the captain came on and said they were having some trouble with the avionics, and would have to return to the gate.     This is our travel day to Montreal, where we'll board the ship tomorrow, Monday May 18th. We'll be back on our favorite ship, the Oceania Marina. We left home at 815 AM, and checked into the hotel in Montreal at 8 PM. Even though we changed planes in Chicago, it's hard to believe that it takes twelve hours to go such a short distance! The storms that have plagued central TX for the last week produced a very bumpy ride on our small jet to Chicago, where ...

    ... We go early to catch the museum/heritage centre and run into a small festival. Max is well away when you can pull the rope for the bell on the old steam engine and ride the oil drum train as well as get up close as a 100 car freight train goes by.
    Our train ride goes smoothly and is actually early in Fort Worth & Dallas. Maybe not surprisingly, we get the same coach attendant as on the way done - her name tag read T. Booker, so Booker T it was.

    Just a quick 10K down to the creek and back. I feel good. Lots of last minute planning. The weather may be a little rainy in the Aosta Valley and I may not be able to see the Matterhorn. The webcams are all fog right now.
