The day started with a quick trip to tim houltons (they are huge in Canada) to allow the girls to get there coffee fix and the boys a doughnut fix! Once everyone was satisfied we returned to the beach from yesterday to allow Sarah and Steph to have a dip in the ocean and allow the boys to play on the sand. Stuart had great fun building sand castles whilst Harrison had equally good fun destroying them and flattening roads ...
... currently have a display of toys from the 1900's. I was very impressed with the cast iron toy stove that actually worked. Nanaimo is a much bigger city about 45 minutes south of Qualicum Beach
After the museum we went to the waterfront and walked.
... the rest of the summer look like for us? We hope to get some time at Sproat Lake, meet our new niece or nephew coming this week, catch up with family and friends, and start to plan a wedding!!

... with Rhonda for about an hour. She's such a wonderful lady, we've met some really nice people on our trip so far! :) Our week was topped off with the wonderful news that another beautiful baby girl has joined our extended family. Congratulations Kimmy & Dan, we wish we could be there to meet your gorgeous Thea. ... Nothing like visiting a place to make events you have read about become more meaningful. And on a less academic note, Bordeaux's annual horticultural fair and flea market takes place during our stay! Sadly my fluency in French won't be much more advanced than the last time we were there, in spite of taking French language CD's out of the library (oh, you have to listen to them?), a little coaching from friend Pam and watching some French movies.
