... real idea of how truly massive these trees are. The second time we went, we paid the $12 each to do the tree top walk. This is a little further on from our first visit but well worth trip if you aren't afraid of heights. It's a suspended bridge walk that takes you walking from the ground up to the tops of the trees, I think it reaches around 60ft, although some of the trees are still towering above you. ... there, decided to stay on North Walpole rd, rather than the track, which was basically an 8km downhill cruise into Walpole, arriving about lunch time.

Will have a rest day here tomorrow, staying at the Walpole Lodge, basically for backpackers. Hopefully they won't think I'm some weird old guy.

... section as it basically follows the road.

Eventually arrived at the hut in the early afternoon, about 5 hours. Walpole tomorrow, and a rest day thereafter.

Later in the afternoon a couple of South African? guys arrived, travelling north. They seemed to be suffering a bit, having over-estimated how far they would get each day.
