A Lorne drive

We awoke the next morning a bit sleepy and a bit cold so we agreed we'd have to crank the heater up a bit more in the evenings. We staggered to the facilities block, hoping for a nice, warm, and refreshing shower. We were disappointed with tepid and intermittent water. This was then followed by the awkward 'get changed in a wet shower cubicle' procedure, which would become routine over the rest of our road trip.
Once dressed and finally ready, we made our first stop ...

... an hour outside Melbourne. We didn't stop here, we had our eyes on Torquay another half hour down the road, a famously beautiful beach town. It didn't disappoint, we had fish and chips for dinner sitting by the sea which had the most crystal clear water. We walk back 15 later after purchasing our goon for the meal (this was day 5 that ruined it for me) and our containers are waiting for ...

We were lucky enough that on our drive on the great ocean road, the weather was quite sunny with only minimal wind, so it was very picturesque. Towing the caravan was pretty easy, even on these winding roads, and there are plenty of large stopping bays to get photos. The hills are not hugely steep either, so it was actually a pleasant drive. The steep hills, coupled with the turquoise water and coastal bays are ...

The Alright Ocean Road

... like why they keep rating Waikiki beach as one of the best beaches – to keep all of the tourists at that one ****** beach so that all the other beaches stay a nice sort of secret from the masses? This is why I say that this is just the Alright Ocean Road. I stole that from the first episode of An Idiot Abroad (seriously stream that on Netflix if you haven’t already – side note – they don’t have Netflix yet in Australia!) To ...
